Why This Site Exists
Texas law makes many government records available, but a released person may no longer appear in a current-custody tool. Carson County adds another hurdle because its Sheriff does not publish a web roster or release archive. The Sheriff holds county jail release and transfer records. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice maintains information about state prison custody and discharge, while parole and probation records can explain supervision after confinement. Federal Bureau of Prisons records cover a different custody system. We organize those distinct paths, official contacts, and request steps in one place without treating any single locator as complete proof.
Resources Available Here
The site separates each record system by the question it can answer:
- The home page provides the complete Carson County released-person search and release-record request path.
- Release Date Lookup, VINE Inmate Check, and Post-Release Supervision explain different stages of custody and supervision.
- Facility pages distinguish the Carson County jail, the former courthouse jail, and the state, federal, immigration, and U.S. Marshals systems.
- Records guidance explains how to ask the Sheriff for a booking or release entry and a booking photograph when one exists.
Limits of This Resource
Carson County Released Inmates is privately operated. It has no affiliation with Carson County, any Texas sheriff, jail, court, corrections department, or other government agency.
- We cannot release, detain, or transfer anyone.
- We cannot post bond, arrange visits, or send funds for a visitor.
- We do not give legal advice.
- We cannot promise that an address, fee, phone number, or agency procedure has not changed.
Only the government office responsible for a record can confirm custody, charges, release, or transfer. This site identifies likely sources but cannot make that official determination.
Our Search Partners
Some search boxes are supplied by independent providers that set their own prices and determine their own results. If a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a service, this site may receive a referral fee that helps keep access to our pages free. We do not set partner fees or control partner data.
